Charlotte Mullen has been going to Calvary Baptist Church since 1958 when she and her husband Buddy were married. She became an actual member of Calvary in 1975 when she accepted the Lord as her personal savior and was baptized. A native of Teague, Texas in Freestone County, she and Buddy had dated for 2-1/2 years. She graduated in May and was married to Buddy the following November Throughout her 44 years as Calvary’s secretary/clerk, she taught the children’s Beginners and Primary classes and was a constant helper in the nursery. She is currently a longtime member of the Friendship Class and she and Buddy have two children and four grandchildren.
Charlotte has been Calvary’s secretary and clerk for 44 years, beginning in 1976 and that was her first job since getting married. She was a homemaker because ‘Buddy never wanted me to work’, she stated. When Glendale Black asked her if she would take the secretary/clerk job at Calvary, she said she told Glendale ‘you’ll have to ask Buddy first.’
Her responsibilities as secretary/clerk include taking care of the financial records, preparing the financial statements each month, preparing the church’s weekly bulletin, answering calls to the church and ‘everything else that comes up’.
