Published February 24, 2021 for Sunday February 28th.
March ‘21 is upon us. A lot has happened since March ‘20: The China virus arrived and everything changed in a hurry… and we still have to deal with it! Then the election circus took center stage for months and the clown show was insane. And lastly, we all enjoyed the “Big Freeze of 21”…. what a mess! We trust the Lord in the good times when the way is easy and non-threatening. Do we trust Him when the way is unclear & foggy? Do we trust the Lord when circumstances are not what we want? Do we trust Him when it hurts and things are not the way I would do it? We end up at times stressed, anxious, ill tempered, and numb and/or depressed. Our faith is put to the test. We know the Lord is good all the time. We should all be reminded that He is faithful and good in the harsh times, too! Trust Him when the way is good, bad, or ugly. He loves you always and is not out of control. I am thankful that when everything else if questionable, He IS NOT! World Mission Sunday is this Sunday! We will receive a special offering during the morning service and have a Mission Moment. Be a part of Missions and be prepared to give your prayers and support for the great Commission. Wednesday night, March 17th, Ronnie Warren will once again be with us. Ronnie will play several musical instruments and non-musical instruments –(think playing a saw here)- and share the Word. You will be blessed. Invite a friend.
DAVID SKINNER-YOUTH Hello parents and students! We are glad to see the sun and to be back to our “normal” ministry activities this week. Our first community Date Night was cancelled, twice, last week due to the winter storm. We will reschedule this event for some time in March and will get that information out as soon as possible. We have tentatively figured out our summer schedule for the youth and pre-teen camps. As of now, we are planning on attending Daniel Springs camp for both pre-teen and youth at the end of June. I am trying to confirm dates with another camp, Cho-Yeh, which would be for our 7th-12th graders this week. Hope to have all dates firmed up by next week and will publish those at that time. Lastly, we will end the summer, Lord willing, with our Arise weekend here locally for the students before they begin the school year. Any items not picked-up from the silent auction after this week will be donated elsewhere or disposed of. As always, thanks for the prayer and support of CBC student ministries! God bless.
